Millionaire’s Club Advisor Named Teacher of the Year

Applications and Research Laboratory teacher Maddy Halbach, PhD., received this year’s Teacher of the Year award from the Howard County Maryland Public School System.

Dr. Halbach has served as a Millionaire’s Club Advisor since 2011.

Halbach said she’s pleased to have such an “amazing group of kids” in the finance program and looks forward to each day in the classroom.

“My students are awesome,” she said. “I’m really lucky.”

Dr. Halbach is featured in the Millionaire’s Club short film at MillionairesClub.Org.  The high school financial education experience is available for schools and credit union sponsors across the nation via the new site.

Dr. Halbach’s Millionaire’s Club has twice earned the “Millionaire’s Club of the Year” trophy and her Millionaire’s Club members have placed first in the Maryland Personal Finance Challenge four of the past four years and have earned the national title two of the past three years.
