One hundred four volunteer judges scored over 3,000 application assignments covering three separate categories to arrive at the twelve scholarship winners in the 2020 Credit Union College Scholarship competition sponsored by the Credit Union Foundation MD|DC.  Each winner will be awarded $1,000 to foster their educational goals.

2019 Scholarship Winners Announced

College- and trade school-bound members from local credit unions applied in record numbers to the Foundation’s Credit Union Scholarship Program this year. Four hundred eighty-two applicants, a 30% increase over the previous year, vied for $12,000 in scholarships through the popular offering. Applicants applied in three categories; essays, photos, and videos.

Nymeo Federal Credit Union in partnership with the Credit Union Foundation of MD|DC and Frederick County Public Schools launched the fourth Millionaire’s Club in the county at Linganore High School. The Club will provide financial literacy education and teach leadership as well as entrepreneurial skills.

Stretch Budget With Training Discounts

The Foundation’s tiered discount program provides educational reimbursements of up to 75% of the cost of training for credit unions with assets of $150 million or less. Credit unions select their preferred training provider and sessions may be in-person or web-based.   The application  process is simple and available entirely online.
